Airport agents and representatives are not able to waive checked bag fees for customers who apply for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Mastercard® on the day of their flight. Waivers do not apply to same-day approvals.
How to Set the Expectation
Encourage customers to apply for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Mastercard® on their day of travel so they can take full advantage of the benefits on future trips!
Once approved, cardmembers can enjoy:
• First checked bag free on domestic American Airlines flights for the primary cardmember and up to four companions traveling on the same reservation
Remind customers: “Apply now and save on your next flight!”
